Terms of Service

Last updated: 28 September 2026

Welcome to Crucible Cards. By using the site you agree to these terms. Crucible Cards is a free-to-play fan project provided as-is by its maintainers, with an optional paid membership, Crucible Pro (section 5). If you don't agree with these terms, please don't use the service.

1. What Crucible Cards is

Crucible Cards is an unofficial online tabletop simulator for playing trading card games with friends. It is an independent, fan-made project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any card-game publisher. It does not sell cards and confers no ownership of any real or digital cards.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Crucible Cards. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you should have a parent or guardian's permission.

3. Acceptable use

Crucible Cards has multiplayer features where you interact with other people (names, chat, a soundboard, card notes, cursors). When using these, you agree not to:

We may remove content, end games, or block access at our discretion to keep the service safe — though as a small project our moderation is best-effort.

4. User content

You are responsible for the names, messages, and notes you create. We don't claim ownership of them, but you grant us permission to display and transmit them to other players as needed to run the game.

5. Crucible Pro, payments & cancellation

What Pro is. Crucible Pro is an optional monthly membership that unlocks extra features of the Crucible Cards app, such as more deck slots, deck folders, match history and replays, extra portraits, reactions and playmats, and custom uploads. The current list is on the Pro page. Every card and every game mode stays free for everyone. Pro relates only to our own app features and original artwork: it never buys, unlocks or relates to any third party's card artwork, card data or game content, and it is a licence to use those features, not property. It is personal to your account and cannot be transferred.

Price and billing. Pro costs £2.99 a month, including any VAT that applies. You are charged when you subscribe and then every month on the same date until you cancel. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details. If we ever change the price, we will tell you at least 30 days before the new price applies to you, so you have time to cancel if you'd rather not continue.

Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from Manage subscription on the Pro page. Cancelling stops the next renewal: you keep Pro until the end of the month you have already paid for, and you are not charged again. We don't refund part-used months, except as described under Refunds.

Your 14-day cancellation right. Pro starts as soon as you subscribe. By subscribing you ask for it to start straight away and accept that this means you lose the statutory 14-day right to cancel once it has started. This does not affect your statutory rights if Pro is faulty or not as described.

Failed payments. If a monthly payment fails, Stripe will try again over the following days and you keep Pro while it does. If the payment still can't be taken, the subscription ends and Pro switches off. You can subscribe again at any time.

Refunds. If something goes wrong — for example you were charged and Pro didn't switch on, or you were charged twice — contact us (section 11) and we will put it right. A full refund of a payment ends the subscription immediately. If a payment is reversed by a chargeback, the subscription is cancelled straight away and we may suspend the account while we look into it.

Changes to Pro. Pro's features may change over time. We won't take away a significant part of Pro during a month you've already paid for without telling you, and if we remove something important you can cancel before your next payment.

Accounts. Pro attaches to the signed-in account that subscribed, and a full account with a confirmed email address is required to subscribe. Keep that email address current — it's how you get back into your account, and your Pro with it, if you forget your password. Your Stripe email receipt is your proof of payment. Pro that we give away for free (for example as a prize) is a gift and can be withdrawn at any time.

6. Intellectual property

Card names, card text, and card images are the property of their respective rights holders. Crucible Cards is an unofficial, fan-made simulator and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any card-game publisher. Card data and images are sourced from Scryfall. Built-in soundboard effects are generated by the app itself or used under a public-domain (CC0) dedication. We will remove material or cease activity promptly on a reasonable request from a rights holder.

7. No warranty

Crucible Cards is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that decks, games, or data won't be lost. It's a hobby project — please don't rely on it for anything important.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the maintainers are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for lost data, arising from your use of Crucible Cards. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Availability & changes

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time without notice. We may also update these terms; continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales.
